On March 27, on International Theater Day, the winners of the national theater award “Sakhnager – 2018” were awarded. The solemn award ceremony took place in Almaty on the stage of the State Academic Russian Drama Theater. M.Yu. Lermontov. Among them are employees of the State Republican Academic Korean Theatre.
The Kazakhstan National Theater Award “Sakhnager” was established by the Association of Theaters of Kazakhstan in 2017 with the support of the National Welfare Fund “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC and is designed to serve to strengthen Kazakhstani patriotism and love for national culture, to contribute to the creation of creative works that form a positive attitude towards work, professional success and service to the Motherland.
The Sakhnager Award was the brainchild of seven leading theatrical groups of the republic, including the State Republican Academic Korean Theater of Musical Comedy. The establishment of the award is one of the points of the program for the development of theatrical art in Kazakhstan, which also includes the development of international cultural relations, the organization of internships and creative business trips (including foreign ones) for representatives of all theatrical professions, the systematic holding of round tables, master classes, trainings and creative laboratories, awarding grants and scholarships to young professionals, organizing and holding an annual theater festival under the auspices of the Association of Theaters of Kazakhstan. The Sakhnager Prize is awarded in 17 theater categories. The most important nominations are “Best Actor of the Year” and “Best Actress of the Year”. For young artists, there is a special nomination – “Umit”. 26 theater groups participated in the qualifying round of 2018: all of them are members of the Association of Theaters of Kazakhstan. In total, there are 52 theaters in Kazakhstan.
This year, the actresses of the State Republican Academic Korean Theater of Musical Comedy, Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Antonina Pyak in the nomination “Uzdik Actress – Best Actress” and Natalia Li in the nomination “Umit – Hope” became the laureates of the award. The creative works of Antonina Pyak and Natalia Li were highly appreciated by the world’s leading theater critics and colleagues. The awards were presented to them by the President of the “Association of Theaters of Kazakhstan” People’s Artist of the USSR Asanali Ashimov and two vice-presidents – Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Maemirov and Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Lyubov Ni.
The highlight of the solemn ceremony was the drum show of the Korean Theatre, which was greeted with enthusiasm by colleagues from the Kazakh theater workshop. The Korean theater has been preserving and developing the Korean national culture for over 85 years, being an integral part of the diverse culture of Kazakhstan. For reference: The Association of Theaters of Kazakhstan was founded in 2016, Asanali Ashimov, People’s Artist of the USSR, laureate of State Prizes, holder of the Otan and Dostyk orders, was elected its president.
The Association of Theaters of Kazakhstan considers the implementation of the multinational presidential idea “Mangilik El” as a priority direction of its activity, as well as the program article of the Head of our state “Looking into the future: modernization of public consciousness”.
