On May 19 at 14.00, a concert was held at the Students’ Palace as part of the 7th Festival of Korean Culture, which is annually held in Almaty by the Central Asian Office of the Consultative Council for the Peaceful and Democratic Unification of Korea, the Almaty Korean National Center and the Association of Koreans of Kazakhstan. The concert program, in addition to the artists of the State Republican Academic Korean Theater of Musical Comedy, included Kazakhstani performers, the BNF idol group and other South Korean pop stars performing in the K-POP genre. For the first time, artists from the North Korean theater Tong-il performed on the same stage with their South Korean colleagues. This is a unique concert that demonstrates the desire of Koreans around the world, including Kazakhstan, to peacefully resolve the chronic conflict that divided the once united Korea.
