Dear friends!
On January 17 and 18 on the stage of the Korean theater premiere of the first dance performance-laboratory of the Republican State Academic Korean Theater and Contemporary Dance Theater «Samruk» under the direction of Adamova Gulnara Vladimirovna took place!
The author of the project is the chief choreographer of the Korean Theater, Anna Tsoy!
Chapter 1: «CONTOURS OF A PHANTOM»
Each part of the performance “Contours of a Phantom” is a distinct story-dialogue about the nature of phantom pains and visions, sleep paralysis, and the appearance of archetypes and fears in our dreams. At the heart of the narrative is the attempt to capture the invisible contours of a phantom, to embody them, and to draw forth images of loved ones who have passed away.
Choreographers: Anna Tsoy, along with Tomiris Mettybaeva and Artur Galimullin from the Samruk Theater.
Chapter 2: «WITHIN THE CYCLE»
Director-Choreographer: Andrey Ostapenko
What is a CYCLE? It is the union of independent parts that together reveal a shared concept. It explores the inner processes of a person that arise during interactions with others. What does each individual feel and experience when entering a new space among strangers?
This was the first collaboration of traditional Korean dance ballet with contemporary choreography, generating great interest and enthusiastic feedback from the audience.
We express our gratitude to the team of the Samruk Contemporary Dance Theater and its artistic director, Adamova Gulnara Vladimirovna, for their partnership and invaluable experience! We hope that this was the first, but not the last, joint project.
