What: Director Dina Zhumabayeva in the year of Chingiz Aitmatov’s 90th birthday may become the most popular stage writer in Kazakhstan. In the spring, she staged “Mother’s Field” in the Almaty puppet theater, in October “And the day lasts longer than a century” will be shown in the Kazakh Drama Theater.
For the Korean theater, Zhumabayeva staged the story of “Farewell, Gulsary!”. The performance will be marked as “a new wave impressive edition”. Together with the age rating of 18+, it promises to be impressive at the very least. Zhumabayeva is known for her rather bold productions for the Kazakh theater, but perhaps more important in her work is the “multilayeredness” that the director achieves thanks to her powerful erudition.
