On March 5 and 6, our theater hosted a truly remarkable event—a charitable concert featuring the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra of the Republic of Korea. This international project was dedicated to the beautiful spring holiday, International Women’s Day.
The Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra is a world-class ensemble whose artistry touches the hearts of millions worldwide. This special evening was imbued with profound meaning, as the concert commemorated two significant anniversaries: the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Korea’s independence and the 180th anniversary of the great poet and enlightener Abai Qunanbaiuly. These milestones symbolize the enduring power of culture, memory, and the friendship between our nations.
The program featured masterpieces by legendary composers such as W.A. Mozart, A. Vivaldi, and P.I. Tchaikovsky, alongside works by renowned Kazakhstani composers Yerkezhan Shakeev and Manarbek Yerzhanov. A highlight of the evening was the performance of “Quanamin” by Angelina Yugay, the leading soloist of the Korean Theater and Grand Prix winner of international festivals in Salzburg and St. Petersburg.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and its General Director, Mr. Jeong Jae-wal, for these two unforgettable nights of musical enchantment. A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this extraordinary occasion!
