In the period from August 21 to 24, 2018, within the framework of the national program “Ruhani Zhangyru”, the International Festival of Korean Traditional Performing Arts Samulnori was held, which was organized by the State Republican Academic Korean Theater of Musical Comedy with the invaluable assistance of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Almaty, the Association of Koreans Kazakhstan and the Youth Movement of the AKK.
The format of the Festival is educational and introductory and was not chosen by chance: the main goal of the organizing committee of the Festival was to preserve national identity and culture, to popularize it among a wide range of fans of Korean culture.
Drummers from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan took part in the Festival. Our countries were represented by a whole galaxy of cities: Almaty, Atyrau, Taraz, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, St. Petersburg, Samara, Tashkent and Bishkek.
