Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev invited the Minister of Culture and Sports Aktoty Raimkulova, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Akorda’s website.
Tokayev was informed about the events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of Kazakhstan and the anniversaries of prominent figures of culture and art.
Aktoty Raimkulova told the Head of State about the work of the Kazakhfilm studio named after Shaken Aimanov and the State Center for the Support of National Cinema, as well as about the additions that are planned to be made to the law “On Cinematography”. According to her, this year it is proposed to provide financial support to 42 film projects that were approved by the expert council and the interdepartmental commission.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was also provided with information on per capita funding for creative circles and sports sections. In Kazakhstan, there are about 22 thousand creative clubs and 126 thousand sports clubs covering 50 percent of the country’s children and adolescents.
The Minister reported on the work on amendments and additions to the legislation on culture and sports.
In addition, during the meeting, the prospects for developing domestic tourism and digitalizing processes in this area were considered. A number of digital solutions are currently being launched. New products are being developed, such as the national tourism portal Kazakhstan.travel, Tourism online, View Project, the eQonaq system, the unified register of guides, and the E-Shagym module, which will allow tourists to leave feedback or complaints about poor quality services.
The President also heard a report on the state of cooperation with UNESCO. To date, Kazakhstan is represented by ten monuments of history and culture on the World Heritage List. The Ministry is actively working to include new objects of tangible and intangible cultural heritage in the UNESCO lists.
At the end of the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed the minister to continue work in these areas.
