Today, November 30, 2021, the State Republican Academic Korean Theater in cooperation with the State Puppet Theater hosted the premiere of the philosophical parable “If I am called a man” based on the works of Abay Kunanbaev.
The performance was dedicated to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Stage directors: Dina Zhumabayeva and the chief director of the theater Elena Kim.
Starring: Batyrkhanov Meirkhan, an artist of the State Puppet Theater and Anna Tsoi, an actress in the Korean theater.
The thoughts of the educator and poet Abai Kunanbaev, and his words of edification are relevant to this day. Today’s performance is a synthesis of cultures, it organically intertwined the customs and traditions of the Kazakh and Korean peoples with the works of the poet. Live accompaniment, Abai’s songs, Korean plasticity, and the philosophy of the unity of opposites did not leave the audience indifferent. Abai’s works were performed in Kazakh and Korean languages in a single harmonious consonance. The premiere was held at a high level. The audience warmly accepted the performance and did not let the artists go for a long time.
